Our latest ocean inspired pied-à-terre project in Hermanus. This holiday apartment in Hermanus was a full refurbishment for clients with a deep love for being close to the whales. The brief asked for light, calm, a strong ocean connection and the colour blue. A home layered with our client's sculptures, craft and objects was achieved. By introducing custom lighting along the apartment's very long hallway, colours and furniture that followed the organic shape and textures of the environment, a feeling of sophistication, warm and comfort.
To bring a sense of calm and effortless luxury to a beach house apartment for adventurous clients who wanted a coastal retreat that felt timeless rather than trend-led, a space to decompress with the ocean always present.
The design draws directly from the Hermanus landscape, the shifting tones of the ocean, the texture of the coastline, the quality of the light. A palette of layered neutrals forms the foundation, with organic materials and subtle oceanic references woven throughout. Luxury is present in the details rather than the gesture, creating a space that feels restrained, elegant, and completely at ease.
